Homework desk and reading space.

Bespoke Furniture Indoor Treehouse - - - - - - - - £1500 incl. vat approx

A bespoke design for a specific brief.

By constructing the proposal model within a 3d-scanned context model, we were able to design the structure to perfectly fit the space - to the millimetre.

The piece accommodates a fold-down desk, with integrated screen support, and extends up, tree-like into the roof space to provide a cosy 'treehouse' in which to sit and read.

The holes offer climbing access to suitably-sized people (i.e. no grown-ups) and plants and toys can be placed within the little pockets within the branches.

Hooks

For hanging coats and bags and other items that are stored by hanging. Chose number and type of hooks, and length of back-board.

Standard size = 120cm x 10cm (double row)

Multiple back-boards, or longer back-boards are available, up to 2.4m - please feel free to contact us with any such requirements.

A selection of 4 different hooks is included, with one hook per 20cm of back-board (6no. with standard 12.m board). More hooks can be provided if required.

'C' Stack Shelf

Pre-drilled holes are included in the rear struts of the shelf, to be fixed with (included) screws into suitable rawl plugs (not included).

Multi-purpose, specific requirement, demountable wall storage

Bespoke Furniture Wall Storage Unit - - - - - - - - - - - £2k contract price

Leyton, London

The brief for this project was to consider an existing ground-floor living/dining room and incoporate an extensive wall storage piece, that did not compromise the space.

We analysed the room and developed a design which directly responded to the confined nature, the additional requirements regarding access and adjecent spaces, and very specific requirements as to what was to be accomodated. Namely:

Coats and shoes, bottles, records and turntable, books and a drawer.

Although the piece was designed for its location, it was also constructed in such a way as to be easily disassembled, to enable moving it in the event that our client were to move house.

Bathroom - Walthamstow

Small Spaces Bathroom design - - - - - - - From £2k for a full, detailed design

We designed a bespoke CNC-cut plywood system that was assembled on-site to house storage, vanity shelf and concealed WC cistern and extended the material to the full height of the wall and wrapped around the window reveals. Wall space has been maximised, by using long slim windows, which also function to provide privacy from the gardens and opposite terrace properties.

Cross Table

By default it is sized to fit perfectly from an 8 x 4ft sheet material.

Fishponds

Small Space Glastonbury Treehouse - - - - - - £2k incl vat Design fee (including Planning approval), £2.5k incl vat technical design fee

Two-person treehouse holiday let

  • Planning and Building Control Approval gained
  • Due on site 2022

Set within a copse in the corner of a country cottage garden, this treehouse accommodation is designed around an existing sycamore, with views through the trees to private fishponds to one side and Glastonbury Tor to the other.

Clad in Cedar shingles and stacked log walls with projecting eaves to emulate the shading canopies of the adjacent trees the living space opens onto a large, south-facing balcony, which cantilevers out to further increase the impact of the setting.

Steps up to the treehouse wind between the stems of the existing tree and angled timber posts continue the woodland aesthetic to blend the building into its setting.

Bathroom - Frome

A pallette of warm timbers and natural finishes offset against light, bright tiles and furniture. Built-in units make efficient use of awkward existing spaces and simple lines make the sapce feel larger.

  • Completed 2018

Use of wood and materials warm to the eye and to the touch, offsetting the cold clinical feel of sanitaryware and fittings.

By reducing the extent of tiling to the shower walls, the shiny, hard character of the taps, mirrors and wall furniture etc integrate with the cork and allow ease of maintenance and cleaning.

A splash of colour around window reveals bounces warm light into the space from the large side window.

RACK 'Y'

    Where we develop and test the brief.
    We will take the project requirements and end goal of the piece, and consider them alongside the constraints of the site, and more detailed design issues, and work with you to form the initial concept design.

  • 2Detailed design

    This is where the concept is developed, and the model refined in preparation for production/construction.
    Finer design, practical and fabrication details are added along with further consideration as to how the piece will work within its intended space.

  • 3Production

    With established connections to numerous local fabricators and machining manufacturers, your furniture piece will be locally produced, using the best and most suitable materials sourced from reputable suppliers.
